Primary, Secondary & University Maths Grinds | Dublin

About Me:

Hi, I'm Stephen Easley-Walsh and here is a little something about me :) I hold an honours Bachelors of Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin (which is ranked 1st in Ireland and in the top 100 world universities by the QS World University Rankings). I also hold an honours Masters of Science for Mathematical-Physics from University College Dublin. I have been teaching and lecturing full-time now for 9 years and even longer part-time, around about 16 years. I'm fully Garda vetted and cetified through Barnardos in Children Frist, Child Protection Training.

Right now, I am lecturing at DIFC in Griffith College Dublin. DIFC provides what is called an International Foundation Year. This is targeted at international students that have English as a second language. Basically, they are taught subjects that are related to what they want to study at university to a first year level. I lecture Mathematics for Business, Mathematics for Science, Mathematics for Engineering, Physics, IT and Statistics (rather busy as you can see). And again these would all be to a first year university level. By the end of the year my students would be at the same level as someone going into year two of university and have the equivalent of the A-Levels under their belt.

That is my day job, now, a lot of my evenings are taken up with Maths Grinds. However when I have free time I do enjoy taking online classes with Coursera and other elearning websites. And I'm always looking to learn something new. Right now I'm brushing up my Data Science knowledge and am taking a Data Science Hdip.

Working where I do has given me the chance to teach a huge diversity of students. I teach students from China, UAE, France, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Uruguay, Vietnam, and Lebanon (to name only a few!). Having students from so many diverse backgrounds, challenges me as a teacher to find the best learning devices to ensure maximum academic achievement. This has developed my teaching skills by equipping me with the knowledge to cater for students with different needs and skill levels from different walks of life.

If you are looking for grinds, then drop me an email, or call me and I'll see what I can do.
